Red Italian Sauce

Introduction

This is the sauce I use over my meatballs. (recipe name on SP is Irene's Meatball's). This can be used on anything obviously. Other recommended uses over pasta or whole wheat hoagie roll for a meatball sandwich. This is the sauce I use over my meatballs. (recipe name on SP is Irene's Meatball's). Ingredients

    1/4 cup Extra Light Olive Oil
    1 1/2 cup chopped onion
    3 cans canned diced tomatoes (use kitchenaid to thin out chunks, just a couple of punch's)
    1/2 cup beef broth
    1/2 cup fresh minced parsley
    1 tsp red pepper flakes
    1 Tbsp Splenda
    Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions

Saute olive oil, onion and garlic until onion is opaque. Then add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer for 20 minutes.
