IntroductionA thin patty of corn and water, fried in a pan, buttered and served hot. Simple, souther, delicious! A thin patty of corn and water, fried in a pan, buttered and served hot. Simple, souther, delicious!
1 cup cornmeal
2.5 cups water
4tbsp butter to spread on after cooking (optional)
1 tbsp oil for frying
Ladle some of your cornmeal/water mix into the skillet. Once one side is done it'll start to curl up off the skillet and will be easy to flip. If it's not easy to flip the pan wasn't hot enough, or there wasn't any oil.
Once both sides are browned and not sticking to the pan it's done. Brush with butter and serve.
