The Core Balance Fiber-Full Shake

Submitted by: JILLINWONDER

Introduction

From Marcelle Pick's Core Balance Diet. This is good for a snack every other day to take away hunger pangs and help cleanse your colon. It's like metamucil without the chemicals and with added nutrients. Try adding some cinnamon, too, for variety and the health benefits of cinnamon. From Marcelle Pick's Core Balance Diet. Ingredients

    1 tablespoon psyllium husks, gluten-free
1/3 cup full-fat plain yogurt (like Greek-style Fage yogurt), or 2 percent if you are watching your saturated fat intake because of high cholesterol and/or high triglycerides
3 tablespoons orange or pomegranate juice
    6 ounces cold water
    4 ice cubes

Directions

"Optional: Sweeten with a pinch of stevia or 1/8 teaspoon of honey, or add 1 scoop of whey or rice protein powder. [not calculated in nutrients]
Place all ingredients in a blender. blend on high for 5 seconds or until smooth."

I mix this with a spoon in a glass, without ice cubes, and it works just fine. Less to wash and more green!
Makes 1 serving.
