Apple Cake

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    4 med. Granny Smith apples, peeled & chopped
    2 cups sugar
    1-1/2 cups oil (or applesauce)
    3 unbeaten eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
    3 cups flour
    2 tsp soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 cup chopped nuts

    Glaze:
    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Directions

4 med. Granny Smith apples, peeled & chopped
Add:
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups oil
3 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Sift together:
3 cups flour
2 tsp soda
1/2 salt
1 tsp cinnamon
Add to sugar & oil mixture.

Add:
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chopped dates

Pour into greased & floured bundt pan & bake at 325F for 60-75 minutes.

Glaze:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 sweetened condensed milk

While cake is baking, combine butter, sugar & milk. Bring to a full boil & stir until sugar is melted. Set aside & stir every 15 minutes. Pour over cooled cake.
