Sheppherds Pie

Ingredients

    1.5 Lbs Lean Ground Beef
    Onion
    4 Cups Idahoan Instant Mashed Potatoes, prepared
    1 Can Peas, drained
    1 Can Campbell's Reduced Sodium Cream of Mushroom Soup
    1 Can Beef Gravy (optional)

Directions

Brown ground beef & onion, drain. Mix in soup and peas. Spread evenly in casserole dish. Spread prepared mashed potatoes on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Heat gravy and serve on the side.
***After a comment about the sodium content, I revised it just a little. I changed the soup to reduced sodium and made the gravy optional. I don't use the gravy but to my husband it's a must have.

  • Canned soups (and I'm sure the canned gravy) are very high in sodium and this recipe is a little over the top. Definitely won't be making this one. - 8/4/10

    Thanks for your input. I modified the recipe a little by changing the soup to reduced sodium and making the gravy optional. I personally don't like gravy on it but my husband insists on putting it on his. That is why I serve it on the side. Still a little high in sodium but a little better.
