Coconut Cherry Crumble Bars

Introduction

Reduced calorie version of an old favorite. Used canola oil instead of margarine and lite cherry pie filling. Reduced calorie version of an old favorite. Used canola oil instead of margarine and lite cherry pie filling.
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1/3 c. Canola Oil
    1 1/2 c. Flour
    3/4 C. Rolled Oats
    1/2 C. Sugar
    1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1/2 C. Flaked Coconut
    1 c. Lite Cherry Pie Filling

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 Grease and flour a 9" baking pan. Mix the flour, oats, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Gradually stir the canola oil into the flour mixture until crumbly. Press 3/4 of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Stir the coconut into the remaining flour mixture. Spead the pie filling over the crust to within about 1/4" of the sides of the pan. Sprinkle the coconut crumb mixture over the filling. Bake until golden brown, approx. 40-45 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
