Chicken and Rice With Water Chestnuts

Introduction

Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    1 tbsp Olive Oil
    1 Chicken Breast
    1 cup White Rice
    1 can Sliced Water Chestnuts
    1 large, beaten Egg
    1/4 cup sugar
    Garlic, salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Coat a skillet with Olive Oil. Cut chicken into pieces and place in skillet. Cook with the oil until the chicken is cooked. In a seperate pot, make 1 cup of rice according to the directions. Once chicken is finished, add rice and water chestnuts to the skillet. Add soy sauce and sugar, mix completely. Add slightly beaten egg. Mix everything in order to incorporate the egg. Once evenly heated, remove from stove and stir.
Makes 3 servings.

    Is the Garlic/Salt & Pepper a substitute for Soy Sauce? Have you tried it without Soy Sauce, is it still good? I have a soy allergy and I"m trying to find good recipes without Soy. : - 1/29/13
