IntroductionLightly cocoa-flavored popcorn. Lightly cocoa-flavored popcorn.
1 tbsp peanut oil
1/3 cup popcorn kernels
(or 8 cups plain popcorn)
1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
When the first kernel pops, add the rest of the kernels. Recover and shake over the heat until you hear the popping slow (several seconds between pops). Remove lid slowly (careful - kernels may still be popping and they are hot!) to release steam.
Combine cocoa powder, sugar, and salt together. Drizzle the popcorn with melted butter (coat), and top with cocoa mix.
Placing popcorn in a gallon freezer bag and shaking to coat seems to work well.
