Introduction

Really easy base recipe for numerous dishes. Just add veggies and sauce, and you have a low sodium carb/protein balanced meal with little fat. Really easy base recipe for numerous dishes. Just add veggies and sauce, and you have a low sodium carb/protein balanced meal with little fat.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 cup black beans
    .5 cup dried TVP (1.25 cup hydrated)

Directions

Soak beans overnight
Boil beans until tender
in different pan, heat oil and saute vegetables of your choice
boil or microwave 1/2 cup water, add to TVP
Add beans and TVP to veggies, add sauce, and eat.

Japanese
julienne squash and carrots, saute is sesame oil, add TVP/beans, add ginger and 2 tbs soy sauce

Mexican
saute peppers, onions, and tomatoes, and beans/TVP, add picante, hot sauce, lime juice, and cilantro

Cajun
saute garlic, celery, onion, add TVP/beans, add cajun seasoning
