Ingredients

    Milk 1 litre
    Basmati rice, soaked 50 grams
    Sugar free 3 measure spoons
    Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
    Pistachios, chopped 12 pc
    Saffron (kesar) a few strands

Directions

Boil the milk so that it reduces to half its quantity.

Add the rice flour to this and mix well so that no lumps are formed.

Dissolve the saffron in warm milk and add this to the above mixture.finally remove from stove and add sugarfree or other sweetner

Pour the phirni in bowls and garnish with pistachios .

Allow it to cool and set in the refrigerator and serve cold.

  • I'm a little confused: the ingredients asks for basmati rice and the directions states rice flour. After soaking the rice do you grind/pulse it into flour? 3 tsp of sugar free what? Other than that is looks quite interesting. - 8/23/10
