Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken
Submitted by: NPDSLEUTHIntroduction
Chicken lovers will adore this recipe adapted from Hungry Girl. One thing I've done is add BBQ sauce to spice it up a bit. You can, of course delete that or add to it depending on taste. One thing to note: 2 TBSP of BBQ sauce such as I used is 60 calories so be prudent. Chicken lovers will adore this recipe adapted from Hungry Girl. Ingredients
-
1 can tomato sauce
2 TBSP brown sugar
2 TBSP cider vinegar
2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved
Optional: 4 TBSP BBQ Sauce
Directions
- Place all ingredients except chicken in the crock pot
-- Mix
-- Add chicken and coat with sauce
- Cover and cook on high 3 to 4 hours on low or 7 to 8 hours on high or until chicken is done.
-- When done remove all chicken and place it in a bowl.
-- Shred each piece of chicken using two forks - one to hold chicken in place and one to pull it.
-- Return shredded chicken to crock pot and mix with sauce
-- I serve over rolls but it would also be good in a pita.
-- To complete the meal, I also make a salad.
Enjoy!
