Cedar Grilled Salmon with Sour Cream & Dill Sauce

Submitted by: HPCANNONFODDER

Introduction

I highly recommend fresh Alaskan Wild Caught Salmon, but any salmon would work.
The sauce listed here uses fresh dill, but fresh tarragon is also very good.
In a pinch you can also use dried versions of these herbs, but it is not nearly as tasty.

Ingredients

1 piece of cedar plank or cedar paper, soaked in liquid at least 10 minutes.
1 10 oz piece of fresh salmon
3 sprigs of fresh dill or tarragon
6 Tbsp fat free sour cream
2 Tbsp of finely chopped scallion (green onion)
1 or 2 dashes of salt and black pepper

Directions

Grill the Salmon on a soaked cedar plank set on a direct burner over low heat, with an indirect burner set to high.
Close the grill lid and grill/bake until the salmon starts bubbling up white streaks, about 10 to 20 minutes depending on your grill.
You can salt and pepper the fish, but balance that against the salt and pepper you put in the sauce.

While grilling, finely chop the dill and scallion, then mix with the sour cream and add a dash or 2 each of salt and pepper.

Serve the sauce on the side or over the top of the salmon.
