Tomato and Basil Sauce

Ingredients

    Olive Oil, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Red Ripe Tomatoes, 3 large whole (3" dia) (remove)
    Onions, raw, 0.5 cup, chopped (remove)
    Garlic, 1 clove (remove)
    Tomato Sauce, 1 cup (remove)
    Basil, 5 leaves (remove)

Directions

In large saucepan over medium heat sauté onions in olive oil until softened. Add chopped tomatoes; season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Bring to boil then reduce to a simmer; add 1 8 oz can tomato sauce, cook until thickened. Add basil leaves; adjust seasoning to taste, then cool. Refrigerate or freeze as desired.
