Slow Cooker Split Pea with Turkey Bacon Soup

    16-oz dried green & yellow split peas, rinsed
    4 Slices Turkey Bacon, cooked & crumbled
    1/2 cup diced baby carrots
    1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 bay leaf
    6 cups low sodium chicken broth
    Salt and pepper to taste


Layer ingredients in slow cooker in the order given, adding the broth last. Do not stir ingredients. Cover and cook on high 4-5 hours or on low 8-10 hours until peas are very soft.
