1 cup pearl barley
2 cups beef broth or au juice from a roast
15 cups water
1 bulb garlic
2 cups black eyed peas
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped celery
2 cups yellow beans cut in 1 inch pieces
2 cups green beans cut in 1 inch pieces
2 cups carrots
1 pound portabella mushrooms cubed
1 cup potatoes cut in bite size pieces
1 & 1/2 cups cauliflower cut in bite size pieces
2 cups cabbage
Salt to your liking (not included in nutrition)
Could barley for 1 hour in 2&1/2 cups of water plus the beef broth.
Add remaining ingredients & simmer for 2 hours.
Add salt on serving.
