  • My family really, really likes these. I have made these everyday since the first time almost a week ago. I subsitute honey for the splenda which adds calories, I also change the oats to 1 cup. I use real butter/canola spread. I plan to continue experimenting with the recipe with less/no brown sugar. - 1/15/08

Splenda and Promise are both junk. You don't ever need to be putting that into your body. For those that think that Splenda is OK, just wait til the day comes when u wake up splotches all over your face from the tri-chlorine molecule they replace the sugar with in splenda! Do the research folks! - 10/9/07

  • I expected ratings for this recipe since thats what the heading is. About 10% of the comments are about the recipe and 90% are about chlorine, measurement woes and how it's the education systems' fault (As a math teacher, I teach it. Can we ever hold anyone else responsible?) How are the cookies? - 9/30/07

  • When these cookies first came out of the oven, they tasted okay, but I placed them in a plastic bag for storage and they became chewy. They are very small, so you can't eat just one. The fact that they only have 50 calories is great but the calories add up fast if you eat more than one. - 9/28/07

  • I like to see recipes like this because it gets my creative juices flowing and I can come up with lots of substitutions or add-ins to change it around. Always good to experiment -- it's pretty hard to screw things up and if you do it's not that big a deal, right? Thanks for sharing ... - 9/25/07

  • Umm remember sparkers not all people are from the USA other countries use the metric system so remember for them that is their means for measurements (I understand it, its simple math) and THANK YOU for your recipe!! I am going to make it this afternoon sounds great! - 9/24/07

  • the idea of a 50 calorie cookies sounds great... although the ingredients are quite hard to source. it sounds more like an idea than an actual reasonable recipe. most of these ingredients are not readily available to me. - 9/24/07

  • Sounds good, but I need to buy egg sub, whole wheat flour, Promise, natural oats, Splenda, and Baking chunks...none of these are normally in MY pantry! - 9/22/07

  • WOW!! I can't believe what I am reading. You people who don't understand the measurement must not be using your nutritional tracker to track your foods. I will try this recipe, sounds YUMMY!! - 9/22/07

  • Wow...this forum debate is funny. I was expecting to read feedback about the recipe, in order to convince myself to try it. People can't use basic measurements and all they do is complain. Everybody is entitled to ingest whatever their hearts desire and YES you can alter the basic recipe-no harm! - 9/20/07

  • DMHAMMY you said it all. I tried this using 1/2 cup Splenda, mixing it in with the flour as suggested by MS11145. I believe butter spread should be mixed in with egg substitute, etc. (That step was left out of recipe.) Cookies were pretty good - my chocoholic husband liked them! Made 16 cookies - 9/19/07

  • I guess a lot of people do not understand the purpose of a recipe. Its to share with others so they can enjoy it and make it their own. Which means use whatever sweetener that suits your life style and goals. Sugar, brown sugar, honey, molasses, maple syrup, maple sugar, brown rice syrup or stevia - 9/19/07

  • More of a question: I'm not the best cook out there and I generally substitute apple sauce for butter when I make 'box mix' cookies - do you think I could do the same here? The apple sauce makes the cookies more fluffy and cake-like - which I love! Thanks for the easy, 'non-box mix' cookie recipe! - 9/19/07

  • I don't understand the how 0.5 Cups or any of the other cups you have in this recipe. So I guess I will not make it and the remark are not needed. Thank you. I think it was wrote this way to make people feel dumb. - 9/19/07

  • I think many people are confusing Splenda with Aspartame. I can't use Aspartame (triggers headaches) but I use Splenda all the time with no adverse effects! If you check the recipe above it says "Splenda Cooking Blend, 0.25", but doesn't mention cup, tsp or tbsp! I'll be making them tonight! - 9/18/07

  • My mother uses Splenda regularly and her health hasn't changed to the worst, so if it's good for a senior it's probably good for everyone else. I love chocolate chip cookies but can't eat often, so I would definately try this recipe, thanks for sharing. - 9/18/07
