BBQ Beef (pressure cooker, low iodine)

Submitted by: J165GOAL

Introduction

I made this for my husband when he was on a low iodine diet. It was a big hit....will definitely make it again.I served this over rice (not included in nutritional info).
Cook time includes 15 minutes of active cooking to make the sauce and brown the meat + 55 minutes pressure cooker and 5 min pressure release. I think this would also come out well if made in a crock pot.

Ingredients

Beef, round steak, 1.5 lb, pounded on both sides with tenderizing mallot
    Applesauce, unsweetened, 1 cup (remove)
Water, tap, .5 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)
Onions, raw, .25 cup, chopped (remove)
White Wine, 2 fl oz (remove)
    Cider Vinegar, .25 cup (remove)
Brown Sugar, 6 tsp unpacked (remove)
    Paprika, 3 tbsp (remove)
    Garlic, 1 tsp (remove)
Heinz No Salt Added Ketchup with AlsoSalt, 2 tbsp (remove)

Directions

Makes 5 servings.
Combine all ingredients except beef in a saucepan, cook over low to medium heat for about 15 minutes - enough time for flavors to bein to meld.
While that is cooking, brown the beef. (I browned it in the pressure cooker, but you could do it in a pan on the stove then add to the pressure cooker.)
Pour sauce over meat.
(According to the instructions for your pressure cooker) Cook under high pressure for 55 minutes. Allow steam to release naturally. Using forks or tongs, shred meat. Serve on bread or over rice.
