Introduction

Grandma's recipe...nummy! Make sure you give the meat at least one full hour to simmer so it will be nice and tender. Can be done in the crock pot on low for about 6-8 hours. Ingredients

    1 tsp olive oil
    1 Lb stew meat
    3 beef bouillon cubes
    2 cups water
    1/3 c red cooking wine
    2 Tbsp light soy sauce
    1 clove garlic chopped
    1 Tbsp dried onion flakes
    2 Tbs cornstarch
    1/4 c warm water
    Hot cooked rice (not added to nutrition)

Directions

brown meat in olive oil, stir in bouillon cubes, water, wine, soy sauce, garlic and onion. heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender.

blend cornstarch and warm water in a cup, add to meat mixture gradually. cook and stir constantly until mixture thickens and boils. boil and stir one minute. server over hot cooked rice.
