2 - 10 oz packages frozen rhubarb 2-1/2 cups frozen sliced strawberries sweetened 2 cups old-fashioned oatmeal 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 4 Tbsp. margarine (I use Fleischmann's Original) 1/2 cup light brown sugar
Defrost rhubarb and strawberries. This can be done in the microwave just before making, but if the fruit is warm, it may take less time to bake. Mix the fruit together thoroughly and place in the bottom of a glass baking dish (I use one about 7 x 9 inches). In a separate bowl mix oatmeal, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar thoroughly. Cut in margarine. If there are some small lumps, it is fine. Spread the topping over the fruit. Bake for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour until the fruit is bubbling and the top is crisp. Serve with milk or ice cream, if desired. Calories for those are not included.
