Stove-top Apple Raisin Walnut Oatmeal (Old Fashioned)

Introduction

A recipe to warm up and keep you going on a cool morning. A recipe to warm up and keep you going on a cool morning.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 3/4 C Water
    1 C Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
    1 Dash Salt
    1 Tsp Cinnamon
    1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
    1 Tsp Unpacked Brown Sugar (lite, w/ splenda)
    1/2 Small Apple Diced
    Handful of Raisins
    Handful of Chopped Walnuts

Directions

In small saucepan, bring to boil water (add salt). Add oats, then stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, apples, and walnuts. Let simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then, let simmer for another 10 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

Top off with Almond milk or Skim milk, if desired.

Makes 2 servings.
