Moist Banana Bread

Introduction

I will sometimes place three walnut halves in a line on the top to make the loaf dressier. I will sometimes place three walnut halves in a line on the top to make the loaf dressier.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 c. banana, mashed (approx. 2 medium bananas - overripe is more flavorful)
    1 egg
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. unsalted butter
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1/3 tsp. cloves
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    *1/2 c. walnuts (optional - not factored in)

    - parchment or wax paper

Directions

Line a standard loaf pan with either parchment or wax paper.

Mix all ingredients except flour and soda until fairly well blended (there will be banana chunks). Mix flour and soda in separate bowl and add gradually to banana mixture. Spoon into lined loaf pan and bake at 375˚ for 50-60 minutes. Bread is done when knife inserted at highest point comes out clean. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes in pan before removing.
Makes 1 loaf - about 12 servings.
