Tomato Sauce with Turkey

Introduction

Ingredients

    20 oz (1 pkg) Jenni-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey
    1 can (29 oz) Tomato Puree, Low Sodium
    1 tsp dried Oregano, crushed
    1 tsp dried basil leaves
    1 tsp dried parsley
    1 tsp dried italian seasoning
    1 or 2 bay leaves
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 tbsp Marsala Cooking wine
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    12 oz of desired pasta (not included in nutritional info)

Directions

1. Chop onion and mince garlic.

2. In a sauce pan mix canned tomato puree, oregano, basil, parsley, bay leaf, italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and marsala cooking wine. Bring to a boil. Be careful of splatter.

3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and allow to simmer while meat is cooking, about 10 minutes.

4. While tomato sauce is simmering, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add ground turkey, onion, and garlic. Cook until onions are translucent and turkey is no longer pink. About 10 minutes

5. Reduce heat to low.

6. Add tomato sauce to turkey mixture, cover and allow to simmer over low heat while pasta is cooking. Avout 10 minutes

Serve over desired pasta.
