Introduction

This is a delicious alternative to your standard oatmeal. I bought some oat groats at my local food co-op and cooked them like standard oatmeal, substituting milk for water to cook them. This is a delicious alternative to your standard oatmeal. I bought some oat groats at my local food co-op and cooked them like standard oatmeal, substituting milk for water to cook them.

Ingredients

    3/4 cups oat groats
    2 1/4 cup skim milk
    4.5 oz raisins (3 small boxes)
    1 tsp Vanilla extract
    2 Cinnamon sticks
    5 tbsps Brown Sugar

Directions

Combine oat groats, milk, raisins, vanilla, and cinnamon sticks in a pan. Cook until milk starts to boil. Cover pan and reduce heat to simmer. Stir occasionally until all of the milk is absorbed.
