Introduction

A tasty treat from my childhood. You can double this for a 9x13 pan, 15 srevings. Calories would be higher, or 20 servings for less calories. Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    2/3 c. flour
    1 t. baking powder
    1/4 t. salt
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. dark brown sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 t. vanilla
    1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Melt butter in a saucepan large enough to use as a mixing bowl. Take off heat. Sift dry ingredients together. Stir brown sugar into the butter, add egg, mixing well. Add vanilla, mix again. Add dry ingredients, mix. Add nuts, if using; mix. Bake in a GREASED 8x8 pan and bake 30 min. at 350 degrees. Cut while still somewhat warm. YUM!!
