Lightened Up Gooey Barely Butter Cookies

Introduction

I love Gooey Butter Cake and I just had to adjust this recipe when I found it. You can substitute the SuperMoist yellow cake mix with the yellow butter cake mix but it just adds calories. Ingredients

    * *Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mix Yellow, 517 gram(s) (remove)
    * *Cheese - Philadelphia Cream Cheese - 1 oz, 8 serving (remove)
    * Egg, fresh, 1 large (remove)
    * Vanilla Extract, 1 tbsp (remove)
    * *Motts Original Applesauce 1/2 cup, .5 serving (remove)
    * **Smart Balance Buttery Spread Original, 3 tbsp (remove)
    .5 cup powdered sugar (for topping cookies) -optional

Directions

Combine all ingredients with electric mixer until well blended. Chill dough for 2 hours. Roll 1 tbsp of dough into a ball and repeat. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Should yield 36 to 48 cookies. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 10 - 12 minutes.
