1.75 cups wholewheat flour
2.25 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup lard
3 cheese strings, grated (or 1/2 cup grated cheese)
1 cup skim milk
Cut the lard into the flour and baking powder until fine crumbs. Stir in the grated cheese and the milk (adjust milk volume as needed - should just pull together).
On a lightly floured surface, knead 10 times and then roll out. Cut into biscuits.
Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes until brown.
