Homemade tomato sauce

Introduction

An adaptation of my Mom's spaghetti recipe. Add ground beef, onion, and green pepper for a hearty spaghetti. An adaptation of my Mom's spaghetti recipe. Add ground beef, onion, and green pepper for a hearty spaghetti.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
    1 6 oz can tomato paste
    2 bay leaves, crumbled
    2 tbsp basil leaves, crushed
    0.5 tsp granulated garlic
    0.5 tsp black pepper
    1 tbsp sugar
    1 cup water
    1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix
    tabasco sauce to taste

Directions

Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes to an hour
Add more water if too thick, or more tomato paste if too thin

Use over spaghetti, or in any other recipe that calls for tomato sauce (pizza, chicken parm, etc)
