Introduction

I first had something like this at an Egyptian restaurant, so I decided to try out a recipe for myself! It's a delicious substitute for green bean casserole at your next holiday meal! Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 tsp olive oil
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1 clove chopped garlic
    3 cups green beans
    1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp cloves
    1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil in a pan on medium heat. Once onions are soft, add drained (if using canned) green beans, tomato sauce, pepper, and cloves. Incorporate well. Let simmer for at least 10 minutes to reduce and so all flavors can marry.
