Homemade Sloppy Joes

Introduction

A recipe handed down from generation to generation. A recipe handed down from generation to generation.
Number of Servings: 15

Ingredients

    2 lbs. Ground Beef
    2 tsp. onion powder
    2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 stalk of raw celery diced
    3 strips of green pepper diced
    4 Tbsp of Lemon juice
    1/2 C of water
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 Tbsp of white vinegar (preferred but cider will do)
    3-4 Tbsp of brown sugar
    1/2 c of Heintz Ketchup

Directions

Makes about 15 sandwiches

Brown the ground beef and drain in skillet
Then in a big pot put ground beef add the celery and green peppers diced. Next add the water and turn the stove on low. Add the onion and garlic powder too. Next add the lemon juice and the worcestershire sauce and continue to stir. Then add the 1 Tbsp of white vinegar and stir. Next you add the half of a cup of ketchup and continue o stir. Finally you add 4 Tbsp. of brown sugar.

Allow this come to a boil for 5 minutes as you stir then turn it down to a simmer until you are ready to serve.

    I apologize it is not! I did not even think of that. If you used turkey ground or leaner meat it would work as well. It is a good recipe though.
