Introduction

I love to slow cook my meals since I'm so super busy. This one is an all-inclusive meal. No need for sides; it does a fabulous job all on its own. I love to slow cook my meals since I'm so super busy. This one is an all-inclusive meal. No need for sides; it does a fabulous job all on its own.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 pound dried split peas
    10 cups of water
    1 pound smoked sausage (you can sub in brats, keilbasa, whatever, but remember it will have an effect on the nutrition information)
    5 cubes of chicken bouillon
    1 1/2 cups chopped carrots
    1 cup chopped celery
    2 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp dried oregano
    2 bay leaves
    1 onion, chopped

Directions

Throw it all in the slow cooker and let it go:
4-5 hours on high
-or-
8-10 on low

Stir and remove bay leaves before serving. Keeps and freezes well.
