Grandma May's Deviled Eggs

Submitted by: MOM2MBJ

My grandma made the best deviled eggs! My grandma made the best deviled eggs!
Number of Servings: 12

1 doz large eggs (Eggland's Best)
    1/2 c sugar
    1 T mustard
    1T white, distilled vinegar

Set out eggs while water comes to boil. Bring water to boil in medium pot. Turn down heat and slowly add eggs. Turn heat to medium for 20 minutes. Rinse eggs under cool water. Peel while hot under running cold water (helps to get shell off cleanly). Cut eggs in half, putting yolks in medium mixing bowl and whites on serving platter. Mix yolks with a fork until crumbly.

In small pan, mix sugar, mustard, and vinegar. Cook over medium heat until bubbly, stirring frequently. It may seem gritty, but it will dissolve further when mixed with yolks.

Mix sugar mixture with egg yolks. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture and cool completely in refrigerator.

Makes 12 servings.
