Introduction

The base for this stew is my mom's recipe, but I've added my own touches! It's great to cook either on the stove or in a slow cooker. Perfect for every member of the family! Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    4-6 oz of stew beef (pot roast cut into pieces)
    1 cup cut carrot
    1 cup sliced onion
    1 cup cut celery
    1 cup cut potato
    1/2 cup of flour
    2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    8 cups of water
    1 beef buillion cube
    1 Bay leaf
    Black pepper to taste

Directions

Cut all ingredients to bite size pieces. In large stew pan warm oil. Add beef and brown. In another bowl mix flour and pepper. When the beef is almost done, stir in flour mixture until it becomes paste like. Then add water and beef buillion to pot. Stir well. Add all vegetables. Cover and cook for approximately 90 minutes. Remove Bay leaf before serving.

This is also a great recipe to put in a slow cooker. If cooking it in the slow cooker, brown beef in pot first and then add all other ingredients. It will need to cook on low for 6-8 hours and high for 3-5 hours.

Will make 8 1 cup servings.
