Directions

Drain and rinse all four cans of green beans. Mix in large bowl with mushroom soup and milk. Crush the 1/2 cup fried onions and mix in. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Take 1/4 cup onions and crush, add to the top and bake another 5 minutes. Enjoy the lower fat, same great flavor!

USER SUGGESTIONS & COMMENTS

1) Replaced canned cream of mushroom soup with a mix of half&half, minced mushroom and 1 tablespoon of starch.

2) I cut the recipe in half to serve it for dinner. I love green bean casserole and was glad to find a healthier version of an old favorite.

3) I've always made mine this way, too, but I add a bit of soy sauce... this ups the sodium level but gives a little zest.

4) I've made it this way for years, sometimes using 1 percent milk.
