Ingredients

    2 small apples cored and diced, about 2 cups
    1/2 tsp cinnamon (or to taste)
    1/2 tsp maple syrup
    water - about 1 tbsp
    1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, toasted

Directions

Makes 4 servings, 1/2 cup each.
Place apples in small sauce pan and add maple syrup, water, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until apples are tender and liquid has reduced to syrup (3-5 minutes). Stir in pecans. Serve over oatmeal. Would also be great on pancakes I think :) This recipe is not overly sweet. In the original JM has you add another 1 tsp of syrup to each bowl of oatmeal.
