Easy Peasy Lowfat Apple Crisp



Introduction

This was an experiment...was looking for something to use up 2 big apples and a little bit of Grape Nuts. I was in the clean out my cupboards/fridge mood and this is what I came up with.

It was a BIG hit with the hubby. It would probably be better with a little vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt, but I did not have that on hand.

Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    2 Large Granny Smith Apples
    2 T. Wondra flour
    3 T. brown sugar
    1 t. cinnamon
    1 t. Smart Balance Buttery Spread
    .5 C. Grape Nuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 390 degrees. Spray small glass pie pan with nonstick spray.

Peel, core and chop apples finely. Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon. Add chopped apples and mix thoroughly. Spoon into pie pan. Divide 1 teaspoon margarine or butter into little pieces and dot on top of apple mixture. Sprinkle Grape Nuts evenly over top. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes. Cut into 3 servings. Serve warm.
