Ingredients

1 cup Masa Harina (prepared cornmeal used for making tamales)
    1.5 cups boiling water
    pinch of salt

Directions

Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Allow to sit for 5 minutes before starting the next step.

Preheat oven to 350F.
In a frying pan, heat oil. With your hands damp with cold water, form three to four balls out of the masa dough. Flatten the balls into 1/2 inch disks and fry on each side until golden (2 minutes or so).
Slice the disks like a sandwich and place open faced on a baking sheet.
Add your sandwich ingredients (including cheese in this will help the sandwiches stay together) and heat until cheese is melted.
Close your sandwiches up and serve warm.
