Introduction

Decadent, but delicious. Make smaller portion and serve with large salad for dinner. Original recipe calls for baguette but I substituted reduced calorie bread. It saves over 200 calories. Can save calories with redeuced calorie provolone or other cheese. Decadent, but delicious. Make smaller portion and serve with large salad for dinner. Directions

nd cook until soft and carmelized, about 25 minutes. Add wine, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer until evaporated and onions are dry, about 5 minutes. Discard bay leaf and thyme. Dust onions with flour and stir. Turn down heat to low and cook 10 minutes to eliminate flour taste. Season with salt and pepper.

When ready, preheat broiler, arrange bread on baking sheet and brush with the 4 tbsp. softeneted butter. You can add cheese now or add it at the end. Broil bread 3-5 minutes and then add them to your cup of soup. Chives make a nice garnish.
