Introduction

2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
5 large egg yolks
strips of orange peel
strips lemon peel
6 coffee beans
4 tsp lemon juice
2 cups whole milk

Ingredients

    2 cups whole milk
    5 egg yolks
    3/4 cup sugar
    strips of lemon peel
    strips of orange peel
    6 coffee beans
    4 tsp lemon juice

Directions

Whisk together egg yolks and sugar and set aside. Heat milk, peels, and coffee beans in a saucepan until steamy. Do not boil. Add half of the mixture to the egg mixture and whisk then add all of the egg mixture to the remainder of the milk mixture and cook on low, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Let chill in fridge for 8 hours. Add lemon juice and process in ice cream maker until desired consistency.
