IntroductionA sweet twist to plain onion soup. A sweet twist to plain onion soup.
5 Large Onions, sliced
1 apple, finely chopped
3 cups of Apple cider or juice
3 boxes of Swanson beef broth,50% low sodium
1 stick of butter
salt and pepper to taste
Saute onions in butter until wet but not brown.
Add apple cider and beef broth. Let simmer then add apple and continue to simmer until apples are cooked.
Serve with croutons and a slice of provolone cheese on top or leave off for a low calorie version.
