Old Fashoined Beef Stew

Ingredients

    1 pound stew beef
    4 cups boiling water
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    2 cloves garlic
    1/2 package pearl onions
    2 bay leaves
    1 teaspoon Splenda or Truvia
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
    dash nutmeg
    1 pound baby carrots
    1 pound small white potatoes

Directions

Brown the meat in the oil. Then add the water, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, bay leaves, and seasonings. Cover and simmer for two hours, stirring occasionally. Remove the bay leaves and garlic. Add carrots and potatoes, cook for 30 minutes or until veggies are done. If desired, remove meat and veggies and thicken the sauce.
