Dad's Venison Chili

My dad loves to make this on the days he has guys over to hunt My dad loves to make this on the days he has guys over to hunt
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb ground venison
    2 med onions, halved then quartered
    1 qt home-canned tomatoes
    3 cans kidney beans
    chili powder
    cumin
    salt
    pepper

Directions

Brown venison in non-stick skillet. In large stockpot (6-8 qt) combine all ingredients except seasonings. Add 3 cups of water (more or less as you like) and cook 1 hour. Add seasonings to taste and cook about 15 min more. Serve alone or with rice, cornbread, or desired toppings.

This also cooks well in a crock pot.
