Slow Cooker Chicken and Vegetables with pasta sauce

Introduction

An easy slow cooker recipe with lots of vegetables. An easy slow cooker recipe with lots of vegetables.
Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    4-6 chicken breasts
    1 26 oz jar of pasta sauce
    1 medium sweet onion, sliced
    1 green bell pepper, sliced
    1 cup mushrooms, sliced
    1- 2 cups whole baby carrots
    4-6 cloves fresh garlic, crushed
    basil, oregano, one bay leaf, salt and pepper for added flavor

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 4 hours. Serve over whole wheat penne rigate pasta. Serves 5. Mix it up with different kinds of vegetables depending on season. Yellow squash and zucchini are great additions in the summer and fall.
