5 cups All Purpose Unbleached Flour
1/3 cup Granulated Sugar,
2 tsp Salt
1 cup (8 fl oz) Warm tap Water, 110 degrees
2.5 tsp Active Dry Yeast
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 large Eggs + one yolk
Place water in a mixing bowl, whisk in yeast. Whisk in oil, eggs & yolk
Add liquid to work bowl,pulse 8-10 times until dough forms ball. Let rest for 5 minutes, then run machine continuously for 30 seconds.
Turn dough out onto floured surface. Knead lightly to form a ball. Invert into oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for 1 hour, 'til doubled.
Turn risen dough out onto floured surface, press to deflate. Divide into 3 pieces, roll into ropes about 12-15" long. Place on a cookie sheet with parchment. Braid, starting from center for an even form. Pinch each end and tuck under. Cover with oiled plastic wrap and let rise 'til doubled, about an hour.
Brush with egg wash, bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
