6 cups all-bran cereal 2 cups boiling water 1 cup vegetable oil 1 cup molasses, blackstrap 4 large eggs 4 cups buttermilk 2 cups dates, pitted chopped 5 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup ground flax seed 2 tbsp baking soda 1 tsp salt
In extra large bowl, mix cereal with boiling water. Allow to cool. In small bowl, beat oil, molasses and eggs. Stir egg mixture into bran mixture, and add buttermilk and dates. Mix flour, flax seed, baking soda, and salt. Stir in to wet mixture just until blended. Cover and keep cool in fridge for 24 hours before baking. Do not remix. Bake at 425 F for 15 minutes. Makes 36 large muffins.
