Old Fashioned New England Grape-Nut Custard

Introduction

Delicious! High in protein, Vitamin D and iron. I switched from whole to 2% milk and from 1 to 1/2 cup sugar to save calories and carbs! Sometimes I indulge and have this for breakfast! Delicious! Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    4 cups milk
    4 large eggs, beaten
    1 cup Post Grape-Nuts cereal
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    dash of salt

Directions

Combine all ingredients well in a 6-cup souffle dish. Bake in a hot water bath at 350 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes (or until custard looks set in the middle and knife inserted in center comes out clean).
makes 6-8 servings
