Chocolate Truffles RECIPE

Introduction

These truffles are a good once in a while treat since they contain a fair amount of saturated fat. BUT, they’re better than giving in to "real" truffles! These truffles are a good once in a while treat since they contain a fair amount of saturated fat. BUT, they’re better than giving in to "real" truffles!

Ingredients

    • 2 oz. high quality unsweetened chocolate (like Valrhona or Sharffen Berger)
    • 4 tablespoons sucralose (such as Splenda)
    • 4 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
    • 4 tablespoons cream, at room temperature
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 1 oz. crushed macadamia nuts

Directions

1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Stir in the sweetener and cool to room temperature. Mix in the butter until smooth. Stir in the cream and vanilla.



2. Spread chocolate mixture into a loaf pan. Chill until firm.



3. Scrape chocolate into small servings using a teaspoon. Roll into balls and then coat with nuts. Store in the freezer.



Serves 4 .
