Whole Wheat Waffles

Introduction

Delicious homemade Belgian waffles. Servings are for a Belgian waffle maker. Delicious homemade Belgian waffles. Servings are for a Belgian waffle maker.
Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    3/4 cup all purpose flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 Tbsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 cup skim milk
    1/2 cup applesauce, unsweetened
    1/2 tsp canola oil

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, stir together dry ingredients. In another mixing bowl, stir together remaining 'wet' ingredients. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir till just moistened (the batter will be somewhat lumpy).

Spray waffle maker with cooking spray. Bake according to your waffle maker's instructions.

(This recipe is extra yummy if you add fresh or frozen berries or slices of banana to bake with the waffle - delicious!)
