Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    *Flour, white, 3/4 cup
    Granulated Sugar, 3/4 cup
Cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened, 1/3 + 1/4 cup
    Baking Powder, 2 tsp
    Instant Coffee, 1-2 tsp dry
    Baking Soda, 1/4 tsp
    Salt, 1/4 tsp
    Cinnamon, ground, 1/2 tsp
    Milk, nonfat, 1/2 cup
    Butter, unsalted, melted 1 tbsp
    Vanilla Extract, 1 1/2 tsp
    Brown Sugar, 1/3 cup packed
Water, tap, 1 2/3 cup boiling

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9-inch square baking pan with nonstick spray.

In large bowl combine/mix flour, granulated sugar, 1/3 cup of the cocoa powder, baking powder, dry coffee, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the combined milk, butter and vanilla. Stir just until blended. Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and the additional 1/4 cup of cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter. Gently pour the boiling water in a zigzag pattern over the top. DO NOT STIR! Bake until the top of the cake is set, about 30-35 minutes. Cool on a rack for at least 30 minutes. Cut into 9 servings and serve warm or at room temperature with no sugar added ice cream. NOTE: Nutrition information is for cake only and does not include the ice cream.
