Quick & Delicious Date, Raisin, and Pecan Multi-grain Oatmeal w/ ADDED PROTEIN!

Submitted by: CURVES_N_CURLS

Introduction

I thought I'd try to make an oatmeal bowl with no refined sugars, so I used dates and raisins to sweeten. Sa-weet! ;-) [Created 2007-09-28.] I thought I'd try to make an oatmeal bowl with no refined sugars, so I used dates and raisins to sweeten. Sa-weet! ;-) [Created 2007-09-28.]

Ingredients

    * (1) 45g packet President's Choice Blue Menu Multi-Grain Instant Oatmeal, Original flavour [Ingredients: Rolled Oats, Rolled Barley Flakes, Rolled Wheat Flakes, Oat Bran, Rolled Kamut Flakes, Rolled Spelt Flakes, Oat Hull Fiber, Guar Gum, Salt, Millet Meal. ---No added sugar!---]
    * 5g Whey Protein Isolate Powder [About 1 tbsp.]
    * 25g Raisins [About a scant 1/4 cup, un-packed.]
    * 20g Parnoosh Honey Dates , mashed [About 2 dates.]
    * 10g Pecans, chopped [About a scant 1 1/2 tbsp.]
    * 170g Milk, 1% [About 3/4 cup.]
    * 1/8 tsp. Cinnamon, ground

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients in one microwave-safe bowl, stir to mix, and microwave on high for 2 - 3 minutes, depending on how you like your oatmeal. (I like mine thick, so I do 2 1/2 minutes and then let it sit for a minute out of the microwave!)
2. Remove from microwave, stir, and enjoy! :)
