Cheddar Cheese Chip Crisps

Introduction

You know those heavenly, crispy little edges around your grilled cheese where the cheddar oozed out and crisped up on the side? Well... with these little cheese crisps that is just what you are getting!!

No carbs! Great for a little snack when you are craving that crunch from a potato chip. Just whip you up a batch of these little gems and they will satisfy that craving. Rich enough to where you only need just a few!

Ingredients

1/4 Cup of Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese

    No Stick Cooking Spray

Other cheeses work too!! I have also used shredded Parmesan (not the powdered kind) and those are yummy too!!

Directions

Pre-heat a non stick skillet over medium heat (about 3-5 minutes).

Spray it with your cooking spray.

Place 4 tablespoon piles of your cheese around the pan.

The cheese will start to spread out.

Let it brown up real nice on one side and very carefully take a spatula and flip them over.

Keep an eye on them so they don't burn.

You don't have to let them brown as long on the other side, but make sure they are firm and crisp.

Lay them flat on a plate to harden.

Makes 4 crisps.

I usually make smaller ones and get about 6 out of the batch. **Or sometimes I make a batch and a half! - These puppies are so good!!***

Used mozzarella (block cheese at grocery) and added some dried basil for a nice flavor! - 1/12/12

  • Would not make this again. I used sharp cheddar. It did not have a cheesy taste, and was not as crisp as I would have liked. All I tasted was salt. - 9/28/13
